Medium to Heavyweight Carving Mallet Old Lignum Vitae & White Wenge Handle

A handmade very unique, medium to heavyweight solid carver’s mallet in old lignum vitae wood with a lovely handle in unusual White Wenge wood with a Pink Ivory wood wedge. This has been made from an old vintage lignum bowling ball so it has its own unique history. A great piece of  old lignum so a great present for someone you love, or for someone who just loves their woodworking and carving or stone masonary. Beautiful, smooth to the touch and full of character.  Great to add to your set of mallets from me. Ergonomically designed to be a great fit in the hand.  Great rich colour and quite a few visible checks, checks are usual for lignum of this age, but when there are checks they are normal and do not detract from its strength and is reflected in the price. The price of old lignum has sky rocketed! It will eventually disappear.
The handle goes right through to the end of the ball and is wedged for extra strength, the wedge is in Pink Ivory wood.
Designed and made by me in Shropshire and not mass produced. Each of my wood carver’s mallets is of course, slightly different and unique. Beautifully and lovingly finished with wax so the natural colour of the wood can speak for itself. Made by someone who carves and has done stone masonry so really knows the requirements of their tools.  An ideal gift for anyone who loves the unique richness and quality of the grain and colours of natural wood with a wow factor.  A lot of work goes into making the mallets. Size
Medium to Heavyweight 210 mm or 8 and 3/8th inches long and 1,054 gs or 2 lb 5 ozs in weight. Size is not an exact science but I go by the size and weight and shape of the ball. Sizes vary slightly as I go with the wood.
Care Instructions
Best kept out of direct heat and sunlight. Dust and polish occasionally with beeswax to be rewarded with a deep shine.  All natural unstained woods darken slightly with age.

Purchasers from overseas are responsible for paying for any duties that may apply. The weight is as per the description above the weight at the bottom of the package includes packaging so that postal costs are calculated. Packaging is free and recycled where possible and postage is at cost.
