Handmade and hand cut, gorgeously grained and unusual wild mango wood chopping board. Made from one large solid piece of wild mango with no joins! Gorgeously grained, generously thick with stalk detail in Pink Ivory wood. Great to use, great feature table piece for platters and cheeses or great for use in the kitchen. An ideal wedding, engagement or housewarming present of for anyone who loves the unique natural quality, colour and grain of finely crafted wooden items.
Great addition to any kitchen, table or bar, for wood fanatics and foodies. Each board is made by hand and hand cut individually, not mass produced. I go with the grain and shape of the wood. If there are small knots these are filled for hygiene reasons, there are no filled knots in this board. Designed by me, lovingly finished with food safe mineral oil. Great for wood lovers and foodies.
Size
Large sized walnut board approximately 10 inches or 250 mm in diameter, excluding stalk detail of course in Pink Ivory wood.
Care Instructions
Not dishwasher safe. Keep out of direct sun and direct heat. Hand wash only, dry quickly or ideally just wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry quickly. Apply a little food safe or mineral oil to your board, avoid olive oil which tends to go rancid. Ideally let oil sink in for 4 hours. In time the oil layers permeate the board, after that point, less oiling is required. May need lightly sanding with fine sandpaper or scouring pad followed by oil for the first 6 months until oil is impregnated, this will enliven your chopping board and make it as good as new. A little extra care in the early years and perseverance with oil treatments will reap great benefits, you will be rewarded with a beautiful chopping board that will serve you well for many years to come.
